If prison sentences were consistently proportional to the crime, using Nicolas Robinson's 6 month prison sentence this month for stealing a £3.50 bottle of water as a guide, bankers should face 142,857 years in jail for every £million they have embezzled.

When the bankers nicked all our money, and bailouts in the billions followed, I had no sense of the scale of money involved. I have a grasp of time though and found this helpful
But assume £1 = 1 second one hundred pounds = 1 minute 40 sec one thousand pounds = about 16 minutes one million pounds = about 13 days one billion pounds = over 33 years one trillion pounds = over 33,000 years

OK Just read in the Guardian that the super rich have squirreled away an estimated £13 trillion hidden against tax
Now think of that as one pound (£) a second for 430,000 years!!
