I've just come across this beaut' in the Internet Archive. It's a real treat listening to this set - the band are on tip top form and the audience audibly appreciative. Just shy of an hour of live PGs - brilliant! archive.org/details/LivePaard1983

Thanks for this link. This is obviously a desk mix (all vocals and keyboards!!) but you get an idea of what the gigs were like at that time. Sounds like Chris Grace on bass (a hint of fretless which was his speciality), Cynth Ethics on keyboard and vocals, and Lance, Vi and me. I have heard better live recordings from this period, usually just on cassette with 'room' mikes (not properly recorded and mixed tapes) but a more accurate balance of intruments (ie lots of guitars!!!). I would be interested in any more live recordings that anyone knows of. Does anyone know what happened to Bootleg Pete, who travelled round to all the early PG/Crass gigs with a Teac reel to reel strapped to his back! Those tapes would be interesting to hear now. Keep up the good work Richard Famous

Richard, I have quite a few recordings from 82-85, some good opening stuff too, Akimbo, Tony Allen, Rubella Ballet and a great recording of the Cabaret show in Brighton with such beauties as Sensation Rebel, 44 magnum, The dealer. Now to figure out how to get them from Cassette to here. Pete Perfect just came on my radar just recently. He is alive and well.
Tracey.

Keep up the good work Richard Famous It's always interesting to hear those desk mixes, even if they’re heavy on vocals and keyboards. Chris Grace's fretless bass is definitely a standout. I agree, those room mic recordings can give a better sense of the live energy with more guitar presence. I'd also love to hear any more live recordings if anyone has them.
