Overground Records, purveyors of finest anarchee-punk, have just reissued the classically odd In Toytown album by The Cravats from back in the day along with all the early singles on the Small Wonder label as bonus tracks. It's somewhere between Nik Turner's Inner City Unit and Splodgenessabounds filtered through an avante garde hedgerow. And if that's not enough as a bonus 2nd CD Penny Rimbaud has 'reimagined' the album and reassembled and remixed the whole thing with additional dialogue entitled Alice's Adventures In Toytown - and it's a very uplifting and cheerful affair I must say. More information on this and their most excellent back catalogue over at www.overgroundrecords.co.uk

I was tripping my tits off the first time I heard this ! - thought I was going insane ... didn't stop me falling in love with the band, though. hearing 'rub me out' still takes me back to those chilling feelings you used to get, back in the 80s. That feeling that 'they were out to get you' - turns out, it wasn't just paranoia ... scary. I heard Shend became an extra (?) ... tickles me to think of him walking past in the background in 'The Bill' or something ...
